Cub Scouts will converge on Adam’s Community Center, 3230 John Creighton Blvd., Omaha from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9 for a FREE day camp!

Scouts will get to take their aim and shoot BB guns and bows and arrows. They will learn teamwork while playing kick ball, soccer, and basketball. Scouts will hone their strategy skills playing chess. Also, the Scouts will enjoy the great outdoors while hiking and learning map and compass skills.

Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council has partnered with Omaha Public Schools to offer Scouting in an after-school setting. The BSA staff is giving students in North and South Omaha a Scouting experience that is tailored to the after-school program. The students have the option to attend Scouting once a week in their school with their classmates. The Scouting program is broken up into a 31-week calendar to allow the Scouts to achieve advancements and advance through the program.

This day camp is the first “outdoor experience” the council is providing the after school Scouts this school year. Scouts have been excited all week about getting the chance to shoot BB guns and bow and arrows.

Because of United Way funding for the after-school outreach program and other supporters, 150 Scouts will be able to attend this FREE program. T-shirts and food will be available for purchase.
