The difference between good and great packs is the people running them. Great packs have more volunteers, each of whom is fully involved. The number one step in getting from good to great is … taking recruiting to the next level.
Recruiting in a Cub Scout pack is all about getting adults to become committed and involved. That starts with two big recruiting campaigns a year, spring and fall. Good packs do fall recruiting. Great packs start with spring recruiting. Why spring? You have a short time before a parent defines your program as a "family" program or as a "drop off my son" program. Parents who join before June have a fun summer program that involves them. They get to know more pack leaders and parents as they participate in summer events. Then in the fall, these involved parents recruit their friends, become the most effective salespersons for getting even more adults involved. Getting parents involved is what takes a pack from GOOD to GREAT!
