Boy Scout Summer CampMany Scouts enjoy summer camp the most. It provides numerous opportunities for Scouts to earn merit badges along their advancement trail. Some activities Scouts can do while camping include: swimming, hiking, fishing, boating, rock climbing and hanging out around a camp fire. Scouts in the Mid-America Council do all this, and more!

District Week of Camp – New for 2009
New for 2009, each district has selected a week at Camp Cedars for their smaller units and provisional campers.  During the week, the districts will hold different events including: roundtables, camporee and activity planning, leader training, special evening activities for the district and district competitions. Camp Cedars Deadline is Here
Registration for Boy Scout Summer Camp at Camp Cedars continues as we celebrate the New Year. Turn in a troop reservation form and $100 deposit by January 15th to qualify for free leaders. Week 2 of summer camp is already closed so get your registration in quickly to reserve your campsite. Read More

Advance Check-In for Cedars
For organized troops wishing to skip most of the lines associated with Sunday camp check-in, there will be an advance check-in held on the Tuesday before your camp arrival. The purpose of these sessions is to finalize your attendance numbers (and payments) and submit unit paperwork (refer to the following list). If there are no changes between Tuesday and Sunday, you will be assigned a campsite host for expedited check-in. Art Merit Badge at Camp Cedars
Art Merit BadgeThe Art merit badge will be offered for the first time at Camp Cedars at the 2009 season. It is to be taught by a professional Artist in Residence at a cost of $15.00 per scout. It will include the supplies necessary to complete the badge. Art merit badge will be a 5 day, 2 hour per day class of which one hour will be in a formal class setting. The merit badge is to be offered to second year and above campers. Class sizes will be limited to 6 scouts so early registration is recommended. Scouts will have a real opportunity to display quality work throughout the 2009 camping season and beyond. Adults are welcome if space is available.
