The ScoutFit Award
The Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council has accepted a mission to become a healthier Council and lead the nation in living healthier lifestyles! Please join us in becoming happier, healthier Scouters.

The steps below are linked to the appropriate requirements for the award, but you can also download the ScoutFit Award Requirements packet .

Steps to earning the ScoutFit Award!

5-4-3-2-1 Go!
  1. Sign up here to start the award!
  2. Download the "ScoutFit Assessment Chart & Award Application" and complete the "At Start of ScoutFit" portion of the form .
  3. Complete the health quiz at www.54321go.org – Click on "Take the Quiz".
  4. Complete the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) & Family Health History .
  5. Read through pages 3-12  and complete the water, food, exercise and BMI trackers.
  6. Complete the President's Challenge – Physical Fitness Award .
  7. Complete three age/rank appropriate Scouting program awards .
  8. Complete the "After ScoutFit" Portion of your ScoutFit Assessment Chart & Award Application".
  9. Get appropriate leader signatures on your Award Application.
  10. Submit your completed form to Scouter Services at the Durham Scout Center. Scouter Services will accept only fully completed forms and will not be able to follow up on incomplete forms.

  11. Upon form approval, awards will be given to your District Executive to be picked up at Roundtable.
    Please Note: Depending on when the form is received in the office, it may or may not be at your "next" Roundtable.

Learn Ultimate Frisbee in 10 Easy Steps
As a part of the Mid-America Council's Scout Fit Program, Troop 552 in Omaha, Nebraska Eagle Scout Creighton Gerber created this booklet to teach scouts how to play Ultimate and help Cub Scouts fulfill the requirements for the Ultimate Belt Loop and Sports Pin. Ultimate is an easy sport to learn that only requires a disc to play. Creighton learned about Ultimate through his troop and it has been a staple game to play during campouts and after meetings.
